Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Canal Red journalist Raúl Solís has reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office the dissemination on social networks of a hoax about a non-existent conversation he allegedly had with a minor, all of which was a crudely fabricated montage that was later disseminated by Alvise Pérez and his collaborator Vito Quiles on a Telegram channel with almost 700,000 followers, and in which serious threats were made against the journalist’s life and physical integrity.
The text of the complaint accompanies the certifications of all the messages sent by Alvise Pérez and his collaborator Vito Quiles, and in which the crude montage fabricated against the journalist is evident, as well as those of the serious threats from his followers in the Telegram chat, in which they called to murder and mutilate the journalist, with expressions such as “you would have to cut off his dick with a dull knife«, «If it is my son, the coroner is already at home.«, «“We should cut off his balls and make him eat them,” “we should lynch him,” “a can of gasoline, a lighter and watch the faggot squirm,” “don’t go out on the street with your face uncovered because you’ll lose it.” o «hanged in Plaza de España.”
The complaint has been sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Hate Crimes and Discrimination, on the understanding that the crude montage disseminated, deliberately and in a coordinated manner by the people accused in a kind of “information pyramid scam”, has the deliberate purpose of inciting hatred, hostility and discrimination against specific people for purely ideological reasons, also producing in this specific case the obvious direct result of harassment, death threats and serious physical attacks against the journalist.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office is requested to carry out numerous investigative procedures, consisting of verifying the identity of the social media users who sent the false messages, as well as those in which death threats and physical attacks were made. The victim’s statement is also requested to ratify the complaint and the corresponding offer of actions, as well as the taking of statements from the persons under investigation.
