Good news for West Ham United ahead of Matchday 2 of the 2024-2025 season Premier Leagueas Mexican Edson Álvarez is expected to return against Crystal Palace and be part of the starting lineup. For the Mexican legion this is good news in England, as he joins Julián Araujo and Raúl Jiménez, Mexicans who have already seen action.
Edson Álvarez was injured in the last Copa América with the Mexican National Team and when he arrived at West Ham United he was undergoing special treatment to be able to gradually get him back to full fitness for this season in the english league.
The Mexican was unable to play last weekend in the Premier League defeat against Aston Villa and his place in the midfield was taken by Guido Rodriguezwho arrived this summer for free from Real Betis and who was also his teammate at Club América.
Good progress
“He’s been out for quite a while but he’s progressing well,” Hammers manager Julen Lopetegui told a news conference on Thursday.
“We’ll see. We won’t have a clear idea of how the squad is until tomorrow,” added the Spanish coach.
After being in the America’s Cupa, very strong rumours arose of a possible departure of Edson Álvarez from West Ham, since to date there are still clubs interested in his services, all this according to journalist Fabrizio Romero.
“There are still clubs interested in Alvarez for the final days of the transfer window, but so far there are no formal offers,” he reported in recent days. Fabrizio Romano.
Edson Álvarez is rumoured to play for West Ham this weekend.
When does West Ham play?
It will be this Saturday when the West Ham United visit south London to face Crystal Palace and try to turn things around after a poor start to the league.
