Impudent, more impudent, rascal. This gradation was proven on air today by MP Jeyhan Ibryamov, who was expelled from the DPS group at the request of the party’s structures.
Ibryamov, who is married to the secretary of the honorary leader of the formation Ahmed Dogan – Birshen Ibryamova, found himself on Wednesday at the epicenter of a scandal for draining VAT, which stung the treasury with millions.
After the outbreak of the affair, which, according to the GDBOP and the National Revenue Agency, drained BGN 9 million through a tax evasion scheme with trade in grain and fertilizers and through hollow companies, it became clear that Ibryamov used a Jeep limited model – the last scream of the parvenyushina, and according to publications in the media – and an expensive home owned by one of the investigated companies.
In an interview with BNT this morning, Ibryamov admitted about the jeep, but tried to pass it off as completely normal, and himself as the victim of a “compromising attack”.
“I used this vehicle with the relevant contracts and powers of attorney that I had. But from then on, if the use of a car with the relevant contracts and powers of attorney is a crime, then half of Bulgaria must be brought under some responsibility…”, he stated with such brash confidence that there were probably quite a few viewers who fell for the lie . You shouldn’t!
Because, although the use of cars that are formally considered foreign property is not really prohibited by the country’s legal framework, in this particular case Ibryamov violated at least several legal texts and moral rules.
The reason is that even if Tuzar’s jeep, costing in its basic model between 100,000 and 200,000 euros, is not his and he drives it with a power of attorney and a contract, he is obliged to explicitly record this in the declarations he submits as a representative of the people to the anti-corruption commission. By writing both the rent that he pays and the company that owns the car.
However, the deputy has been concealing these data for years, the check in the public register of the KPK (Commission for Combating Corruption) shows. Ibryamov has been a member of parliament almost invariably from the 43rd to the current 50th National Assembly, but in none of the declarations submitted by him since 2014 (since the register has been online) so far there is not a single word about him driving a foreign car.
On the contrary, in the explicitly added column, he indicated everywhere that “he has nothing to declare”. So much for the subject of his attitude towards law-abiding. No matter how much he swears on air that he respected them, as well as that he was the victim of a compromising attack. To what extent this is true has already become clear.
When it comes to morale, the situation stinks even more. Because how normal is it to cross the roads of the country and park a jeep worth hundreds of thousands of BGN in the garage in Rosenets of your mentor Ahmed Dogan? At the same time – turns out to be bought with money siphoned from the treasury? And even if we assume – although it is unlikely – that Ibryamov did not know about the criminal schemes behind the vehicle and the companies through which they were realized, is it not natural for him to resign now?
Especially against the background of the claims that the scheme, which has been operating for years, could not have been implemented without political patronage, and the only politician whose name is currently popping out of it is he?
Alas, the last weeks have shown that for the camp of ruffians in the DPS, led by Jevdet Chakarov and waving the flag of the honorary leader of the movement Ahmed Dogan, such schemes are more than regular, the distribution of “portions in power” is a common practice, the enrichment of the back of the citizens and voters of DPS – a long-standing way of life, and ethics is, to put it mildly, an unfamiliar concept for them.
If you don’t believe it, just look at the revelations, according to which Chakarov is a shadow energy oligarch, and his family owns RES capacities worth tens of millions, bought with funds whose origin is still absolutely unclear.
The other leader of the tycoon camp, Ramadan Atalay, may also claim to have no official business, but his son has emerged as a major player in several sectors of the economy, including energy and transport. With what money is still unclear. Not to mention the conflict of interests in which his father is a long-time member of the leadership of these relevant committees in the National Assembly.
Their right-hand man and spokesperson of this group in Brussels – MEP Ilhan Kyuchuk, turned out to be a multi-millionaire in properties, also purchased without the origin of the funds being clear.
And the person that this group is waving like a flag – the apologist of “company circles” and “portions in power” Ahmed Dogan, absolutely illegally benefited from BGN 30 million from the BGN 150 million loan given by the state BBR to Ortak his party and business partner Rumen Gaitanski-Valka. A loan for which Valka is currently in custody by court decision, and the former head of the BBR at the time the loan was granted – Stoyan Mavrodiev – is being sought under a rock and a hard place by the investigators.
Against the background of all these revelations, it is actually far from surprising that Ibryamov, Chakarov, Atalai and company tried to stage an internal party coup against DPS chairman Delyan Peevski, after the latter announced a “new beginning” in the formation.
A reboot, the purpose of which is for her to shake off the parasitizing “scumbags” on her and the fear and schemes with which they have kept her captive for years in order to accumulate properties, jeeps and bundles in their accounts. Well, as much as this company stuck in the mire of lawlessness doesn’t want to and brazenly tries to make itself a victim of attacks, the “new beginning” is indeed already a fact.
And the reports pouring in from DPS activists all over the country about the willfulness and crimes committed by both these individuals and their local protégés prove it. As well as the data coming out of the investigations on them.
