The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Animal Welfare, announces the beginning on September 14 of the 2023 anti-rabies vaccination and canine identification campaign, which will be held in the various cultural centers of the city between September 14 and September. 29.
This municipal initiative will allow to vaccinate against rabies and identify dogs by inserting a microchip in those animals that do not have one, and at the same time be able to update the Municipal Canine Census, which it was established according to the current legislation.
The initiative is aimed at pet owners living in the city of Puerto del Rosario, who must prove residency through a National Identity Document or Municipal Residence Certificate and accompany these documents with a record the animal’s veterinarian.
The Department of Animal Welfare is partially subsidizing the campaign, offering a single price of 30 euros for the chip and vaccination fee, establishing a cost of 10 euros for the rabies vaccine.
The Capital City Council encourages pet owners to participate and benefit from this municipal initiative and comply with the joint Order of March 18, 1998 from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food and the Ministry of Health and Spending at the Canal Islands Government.
