Traffic on the A59 is moving again after a lorry was lost with a blown tire

A lorry with two tires on the A59 near Oosterhout caused major delays on the motorway from Den Bosch to the Zonzeel junction on Thursday morning. At seven o’clock on Thursday morning the delay increased to more than an hour.

The delay lasted for hours, around 9am the right lane reopened and the delay subsided.

The problem was a truck with two blown tires. According to a spokesperson for Rijkswaterstaat, it took longer than usual to break them off the road because two tires needed to be replaced.

From the Empel junction, traffic was diverted onto the A2, A65 and A58. As a result, these roads became busier than usual.

Traffic was also delayed on the A2 from Den Bosch to Utrecht, between the Empel junction and the Maasbrug, due to an accident. The right lane was closed. Then the delay was up to half an hour.
