After four days of closure, the Parks Department announced this Wednesday that the city’s main beaches have been reopened for swimming.
Beaches in Queens and Brooklyn have been closed since Saturday due to rip currents caused by Hurricane Ernesto.
City officials continue to remind New Yorkers to stay safe and not swim in closed sections of the beach.
“🗣 IMPORTANT NEWS! @NYCParks has announced that ALL major New York City beaches are OPEN again for swimming and wading. Remember to keep taking care of yourself and not swimming in closed sections.
