This Wednesday, August 21, Mario Kreutzberger ‘Don Francisco’, arrived at the Rancagua Communal Park, where he made a visit, together with Mayor Emerson Avendaño, Governor Pablo Silva, and the Vice President of the Teletón Foundation Ademir Tomic, to the progress of the works of the first Teletón Center in Rancagua.
This dream, which will benefit more than a thousand families in the region, is made possible thanks to the collaborative work between the Municipality of Rancagua, the Teletón Foundation and the Regional Government.
Regarding the progress of this work located in the heart of the city, Mario Kreutzberger ‘Don Francisco’, highlighted that “the institute will be located in the Rancagua Communal Park, on land that has been ceded by the Illustrious Municipality of Rancagua. The works that began during the first half of 2024 are already 28% complete and will be ready to be implemented at the end of 2025, hopefully before the next Telethon. (…) Mayor and governor, I congratulate you for this initiative, this will produce great satisfaction for many families and great progress in rehabilitation.”
For his part, the mayor of Rancagua, Emerson Avendaño Llanca, said that “the fact that we are building a center here in Rancagua is a source of tremendous pride for the city, for the region and for our entire country. The fact that we have a first-class facility and the magnitude to which the work has advanced is truly surprising.”
“The Telethon has become part of Chile’s identity, and the commitment of the municipality of Rancagua not only to the delivery of these lands but also to ensure that the road for transportation is in the best condition and that it is inclusive. We also want this park to have green areas of relevance to the
rehabilitation of the children of the Telethon,” added Avendaño.
Governor Pablo Silva Amaya said that the construction of this Telethon Center is “with the collaboration of everyone, starting with the municipality that provided the land, the Architecture Department of the Ministry of Public Works, and of course, thanks to each of the councilors who unanimously approved the project that will benefit more than 1,200 children. In addition to getting the project out in a very short time, it is a commitment that we have, so we are very pleased and happy with this work that we are doing.”
For this purpose, the Regional Council allocated more than 12 billion pesos for the construction, after the initiative was prioritized by the Regional Governor Pablo Silva following the tender carried out by the Architecture Directorate of the Ministry of Public Works.
To make this dream come true, the Municipality of Rancagua provided the land on which the Rancagua Telethon Center will be built, a total area of 6,102.18 m2, located in the Communal Park, the best possible location for connectivity and access to Rancagua from other communes.
In addition, to date the construction company has offered 209 job vacancies for day laborers, carpenters, ironworkers, plumbers and electricians, positions managed through the Municipal Labor Intermediation Office (OMIL).
There are also 810 job offers yet to be published, including positions for welders, bricklayers, ceramists, painters, climate specialists, among others, vacancies that will be published in the coming months and as the work progresses.
