Hamburg’s accommodation providers reported fewer guests and overnight stays for June 2024 than in June of the previous year. The number of guests fell by 2.0 percent to 663,000 and the number of overnight stays by 4.9 percent to 1,385,000, according to the Statistics Office North.
The number of overnight stays by guests from Germany reached 997,000 nights (minus 10.8 percent). Foreign visitors booked 388,000 nights (plus 14.4 percent).
26.6 percent of the guests came from abroad, most of them from the Netherlands, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Denmark.
The survey included 410 open accommodation facilities with 75,763 beds on offer. The average bed occupancy rate was 60.4 percent. The average length of stay of guests was 2.1 days.
