The popular messenger Threema (App Store-Link) has become an indispensable part of my iPhone. Available in the German App Store for a purchase price of 5.99 euros, the app can be installed on iPhones and iPads with iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or higher and with around 77 MB of free storage space.
Unfortunately, with the purchase price of 5.99 euros for the iOS application, Threema ensures that many potential users are more likely to resort to free alternatives such as Signal or WhatsApp. However, with continuous updates, new features and improvements, the Swiss development team always offers incentives to download the messenger.
With version 6.1 and the most recent update to v6.2 in the German App Store, there are now major updates for the messenger, with which the Threema team has focused on several areas of the application and new functions for even better use.
The update to version 6.1 of Threema, released at the end of June, added a practical in-app scanner for documents to the messenger. For example, forms, invoices, invitations and more can be easily scanned directly in the app and then sent to other people. The document scanner can be accessed via the “+” symbol in the chat, which can also be used to add other media such as photos, locations or files: the “Scan document” option can now be found there.
Delete messages for yourself or others
With the update to version 6.2, which was released in the App Store a few days ago, there is another practical new feature in the Threema messenger that benefits all those who like to make typos: Messages that have already been sent can be edited or deleted for everyone. This feature was a long time coming – other messenger apps such as Signal or WhatsApp have been offering this function for some time.
Version 6.2 of Threema has also added various improvements to group calls and also fixed minor bugs, for example when selecting and sending media and when recording and sending voice messages. The latest version of Threema is now available to all users for free download in the German App Store.
