Teacher accused of abuse arrested, but tensions continue in San Antonio

The teacher accused of having sexually abused several girls between 6 and 7 years old who attend School 146 of San Antonio West this arrested and this Tuesday he will be subjected to a hearing of charges in Viedma, reported sources from the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The man, around 40 years old and a member of a traditional local family, had been housed at the 29th Police Station in Las Grutas, but in the afternoon he was transferred to the provincial capital. In addition, he was given precautionary measures.

The investigation began last Friday, after the presentation of the first complaint. The minor declared in the Gesell chamber and would have provided details of what happened and also names of female friends who were also allegedly groped by the teacher, who taught Plastic Arts and whose photo spread insistently.

This Tuesday the Prosecutor’s Office asked the educational establishment for the list of students and as a first conclusion it was determined that the names matched with what the little girl said, so she summoned the parents, who made new complaints. It is estimated that there are about ten.

Although the case is being investigated by the local Decentralized Prosecutor’s Office, due to the seriousness of the events, the prosecutor was transferred to San Antonio Chief Hernan Trejo along with the defender of minors, Alvarez Costa.

It was reported that the police chief, Mary Carmen Carrizo, had also arrived in the coastal town, along with other members of the force’s leadership.

Meanwhile, authorities from the Ministry of Education and Human Rights of the province decided to remove the man from his post as soon as the first criminal complaint was received.
