Castelo Branco (Portugal) (EFE).- Belgian Wout Van Aert (Visma Lease a Bike), leader of the Vuelta, has reinforced the red jersey by winning the third stage between Lousa and Castelo Branco, 191.2 kilometers.
Van Aert clocked a time of 4h.40.42, averaging 40.9 km/h. He was followed across the finish line by Australian Kaden Groves (Alpecin) and Spaniard Jon Aberasturi (Euskaltel Euskadi).

After three days in Portugal, the fourth stage will be held on Tuesday in Spain, between Plasencia and Pico Villuercas, 170.4 km long, with a mountain finish.
