“The meeting lasted about three hours. The Prime Minister confirmed Israel’s support for the American offer to release the hostages, which also takes into account Israel’s security needs,” the statement said.

It is noted that, from the point of view of the Israeli authorities, the meeting was “positive” and that it was held in a “good atmosphere”.

Times of Israel reports that after the meeting with Blinken, Netanyahu agreed to send a high-level delegation to the Gaza talks later this week. Mossad intelligence chief David Barnea and Israel’s General Security Service (Shin Bet) chief Ronen Bar are expected to participate.

The editors remember that the US put forward a new proposal about the negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Doha last week. The Palestinian group rejected it.
