Drug trafficking
In January 2024, law enforcement received crucial information revealing the existence of a drug trafficking network active in La Roche-sur-Yon.
The network had developed a system for reselling various illicit products through
applications Telegram et Snapchat.
In July, a simple traffic stop led to the seizure of cocaine and ecstasy in a private garage.
This check was, according to the gendarmerie services, the starting point of a meticulous investigation, which made it possible to identify three key suspects and thus shed light on this network, which appeared to be particularly well organized.
Interpellation
On August 5, 2024, a large-scale judicial operation was launched, resulting in the arrest of the three individuals. The searches that followed revealed the extent of the trafficking:
– 20.7 kg of cannabis resin,
– 1.043 kg of cocaine,
– 900 g of heroin,
– weapons,
– counterfeit cigarettes,
and various luxury items.
Two of those arrested were placed in provisional detention, according to the gendarmerie.

It happened a few days ago, on a Monday at the end of May 2024.
It was dark, between midnight and 2:30 in the morning.
Criminals decide to enter a tobacco shop in Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche.
Break-in: they managed to get in after forcing a roller shutter. The aim being to steal cartons of cigarettes, they rushed into the storeroom and grabbed two cartons of tobacco that were there, or 160 cartons of cigarettes.
Coming out of the reserve, they attacked the cash drawer where they discovered €200.
Following this theft, the police launched investigations which took them to the commune of Sel-de-Bretagne (35 – Ille-et-Vilaine) after passing through Aizenay.
On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, suspects were arrested and taken into custody, the Gendarmerie said.
And searches were carried out during which the following items were found:
– A balaclava, 114 jars of tobacco of various brands, 14 boxes of electronic cigarettes, 2 boxes of 50 lighters, 65 cartridges of cigarettes, 6 cartridges of rolling tobacco, 25 boxes of cigarillos.
Also found in the homes of the alleged burglars:
– 13.6 g of cannabis;
– 7 kilos of copper;
– 5 reels of 500m of copper,
– 4 tourets de 300m,
– 6 cannabis plants.
