On Saturday night, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions were also shelled, where one person was killed in each. Six people, including a child, were injured in the attacks in the Kherson region, and more than 20 residential buildings and critical infrastructure were also damaged.
Shot down 14 drones
Ukrainian troops have shot down the 14 “Shahed” attack drones, which were sent to Ukraine by Russian troops on Saturday night, the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Mykola Oleschuk said on the “Telegram” platform.
“On the night of August 17, Russian forces carried out an attack with an Iskander-K cruise missile (launched from the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation) and 14 “Shahed” type attack drones from Primorsko-akhtarsk, Yeisk, Kursk in the Russian Federation,” Oleschuk said.
The drones were shot down in Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kyiv regions, the Air Force Chief said.
