➔ Summer series Favorite places: Where do we come from? Where are we going? Where do we like to stop and pause? Which places have shaped us? Why have they changed our view of the world? This summer, the members of the TEC21 team are showing their faces and a place with a very special meaning.
For me there is no the one Favorite place. But there is one place in Zurich’s old town that particularly fascinates me. I don’t really know why.
This place is a nameless square that radiates a timeless equanimity not far from the combustion chamber of the Swiss economic engine. I feel at home there – no matter what time of day or year, no matter whether I spend a few minutes on the circular bench under the trumpet tree, whether I just greet this place mentally as I pass by, whether I am there alone or attending a well-known outdoor game with 299 other spectators.
I really like the little square at the top of Trittligasse. I also love the narrow, ancient alleys that lead to it and act like a lock that ensures that you arrive there at the right pace and with the right attitude to absorb the timeless quality of the place.
