During the war with the Persians, Andrei, together with his small group, defeated the enemy, calling on the name of Jesus Christ for help. After this victory, many soldiers converted to Christianity. When Andrew returned from the campaign, he and several Christian soldiers were imprisoned and severely tortured. The emperor, fearing a riot in the army, released them, but secretly ordered their execution.

Andrew, together with his soldiers, was baptized in the city of Tarsus. Near the Armenian city of Melitina they were dragged to death with swords. 2 thousand 593 people died as martyrdom at that time.
