ARD Story – Attack on amateur football
Monday, 11:15 p.m., Das Erste (in advance in the ARD Mediathek)

Is the integrity of amateur football at stake? For an ARD documentary, a team of journalists has uncovered that games from amateur leagues in Germany are offered on international betting portals – and even in German – it is said to be a billion-dollar business. What is particularly explosive is that in Germany, betting on amateur games is actually prohibited by the State Treaty on Gambling, but bets can still be placed on them from abroad. According to the documentary, which will be shown linearly after a cup broadcast on ARD, it aims to “delve deeply into the world of German amateur football.”

“Red Roses” & “Storm of Love”
from Monday, 14:10 and 15:10, Das Erste

The longest summer break in the history of ARD daily novellas is coming to an end. From Monday, new episodes will be broadcast every weekday from Lüneburg and Bichlheim. “Rote Rosen”, for example, deals with homophobia. After an attack on a homosexual employee, the “Drei Könige” hotel, which is central to the series, is now to be designated as “gay friendly”. In “Sturm der Liebe”, the main character Ana is still torn between two men: does her heart beat more for Philipp or for Vincent? Meanwhile, the mood is good at the “Fürstenhof” hotel. It has been included in the “Top 500” again. The summer break was not without excitement either. During this break, the decision was made to continue both daily novellas as one-hour series until 2027.
