The prosecution’s statements are harsh. The defendants took advantage of Matthew Perry’s addiction problems and played Russian roulette with his life.
For example, a profit-hungry doctor is mentioned. He is said to have sold around 25 vials of ketamine for the equivalent of more than 50,000 euros in September and October.
“I wonder how much this idiot will pay,” the doctor had previously written in a text message to an intermediary. The investigators appear to have had access to the accused’s cell phones.
Ketamine queen arrested – five charges in total
The public prosecutor has now charged five people who are said to have supplied the actor with drugs in order to enrich themselves.
This network would include two doctors, a key drug source known as the “ketamine queen,” and Matthew Perry’s confessed assistant.
There could be long prison sentences
Matthew Perry’s 59-year-old assistant faces up to 15 years in prison.
The charges against the other defendants are also serious and could result in long prison sentences.
Cause of death known: ketamine overdose
An investigation by the Los Angeles coroner’s office in December found that the “Friends” star had died from the effects of ketamine. Other factors included drowning, heart disease and the effects of a drug used to treat opioid addiction.
