‘Only America is the winner, he says.’ Cuauhtémoc Blanco criticized the rest of the Liga MX teams after their participation in the 2024 Leagues Cup.
The former professional athlete highlighted the participation of Club América in the tournament organized by the MLS in the United States, where currently the representation of Mexican soccer is in a single team: ‘The eagles’.
Both squads (the Mazatlan FC also) advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition and sought their advancement to the final rounds to try to bring the trophy home.

The ‘temo’ regretted that the Liga MX teams ‘do not take seriously’ their participation in a international tournamentbut ‘understands’ his assistance by the contract and the executives’ business.
“It is a lack of seriousness, the Liga MX is doing things wrong with these tournaments because it does not take them seriously, only Club América, but well, these are things done between directors to do business at a level USA“, he said in a brief interview with ESPN published on August 16.
“They bring in a lot of youngsters and it’s good because they give them the opportunity to debut and play,” he added about the positive side of the Mexican teams in the Leagues Cup.
