The spots on Albert of Monaco’s face have raised alarm bells about his health. During the ceremony at the Boulouris cemetery, where the 80th anniversary of the landing in Provence was being commemorated, the prince drew attention with his appearance: red spots covered his forehead.
The event, which brought together figures of the likes of Emmanuel Macron and Nicolas Sarkozy, was overshadowed by concerns about the image of the Monegasque sovereign. At 66, Albert had already made headlines for his skin problems, and this time was no different.
German magazine Bunte was quick to speculate on the possible causes. “High blood pressure, insect bites, injuries, an allergic reaction or sunburn?” they asked. However, the Royal House of Monaco remains silent, which has fuelled the speculation even further.

This is not the first time that Albert’s dermatological health has caused concern. In 2014, he underwent an operation to remove a benign spot from his skin. Seven years later, in 2021, he went back under the knife to remove several spots on his nose, neck and forehead, the same area where they have now reappeared. Although no official explanation has been given, this new outbreak of spots on the prince’s face has revived concern.
He was without Princess Charlene
Another detail that has not gone unnoticed is the absence of Charlene of Monaco at the ceremony in honour of the fallen soldiers. The princess, who was with her husband during the Paris Olympic Games, did not appear on this occasion.
Her absence has rekindled speculation about possible tensions in the marriage, a recurring theme in the tabloid press. Although Charlene recovered some time ago from her serious infection, this new disappearance at an official event has added fuel to the fire.
