Vietnamese top leader travels to China for state visit

Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President To Lam, his wife and a high-level delegation left Hanoi on August 18-20 for a state visit to China.

He was accompanied on the visit by Politburo members Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Le Minh Hung, Head of the Organisation Commission of the Party Central Committee; Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of Defence; and Colonel General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security.

Also present were Le Hoai Trung, head of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Party Central Committee; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, head of the Office of the Central Committee; Tran Luu Quang, deputy prime minister; Nguyen Khac Dinh, vice president of the National Assembly; and other senior officials. /.
