RTL got off to a good start with the first episode of “I’m a Celebrity – Showdown of the Jungle Legends” broadcast on TV.
After “I’m a Celebrity – Showdown of the Jungle Legends” had already celebrated its debut the day before on the in-house streaming service RTL+, the TV launch of the show on RTL on August 16 was also a success. The channel was particularly successful in the target group of 14 to 49 year olds. According to data from AGF Video Research The Legends Jungle reached around 830,000 people here, giving it a market share of 21.6 percent. The broadcaster even left ZDF behind, which achieved a share of 18.9 percent with the DFB Cup match between FC Bayern Munich and SSV Ulm.
However, the TV jungle had no chance against football as a whole. The DFB Cup won the day with around 4.0 million people, corresponding to a market share of 19.9 percent. “I’m a star – showdown of the jungle legends” achieved a share of 12.1 percent with an audience of just under 2.2 million. However, it is unclear how many viewers had already watched the first episode on RTL+, where the second current episode of the TV jungle was also shown on Friday.
The daily dose of jungle legends
For the summer jungle camp, RTL is relying on a kind of all-star line-up, hence the title “Showdown of the Jungle Legends”. The candidates only include celebrities who have previously dared to appear on the show – including presenter Mola Adebisi (51), model and DJ Giulia Siegel (49), TV personality Daniela Büchner (46) and ex-footballer Thorsten Legat (55).
The moderators are Sonja Zietlow (56) and Jan Köppen (41).
The jungle camp continues on TV on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. A new episode will be shown daily at prime time on RTL until September 1st. On RTL+ the episodes are always available one day in advance.
