The earthquake was recorded at a depth of around 51 km, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center said.

The tsunami warning said that waves “reaching 0.3m-1m” above high tide are only possible in some coastal areas of Russia.
They said a tsunami or strong waves would likely hit around 10.30-11pm UK time.
However, the USGS said the impact could be limited in terms of possible landslides.
It also predicted a “low probability” of casualties from the earthquake.
