Netflix launches new “Squid Game” experience in New York

(ETX Daily Up) – Netflix, the streaming giant, announced the opening of an upcoming immersive experience based on the hit series “Squid Game” in New York. Named “Squid Game: The Experience”, this campaign should be installed in Europe and Asia as well before the start of the new season.

Netflix won’t stop anymore. After announcing permanent immersion locations in the United States, the American giant continues this trend. While the second season of the game “Squid Game: The Challenge” has been confirmed, the streaming platform has decided to put the fans of the Korean series to the test.

Located at the Manhattan Mall, the shopping center located in the center of New York, “Squid Game: The Experience” allowing participants to test their skills and strategies through challenges inspired by the series. The famous “Front Man”, leader of detainees, will be present to monitor the events, including the iconic game “1, 2, 3, sun”. Fans of the series will be able to experience full immersion in the world of “Squid Game”.

In addition to the challenges, the experience will include “Squid Mart”, a night market offering dishes, snacks and cocktails inspired by Korean culture, referencing Korean grocery stores to called “Korean Mart”. Visitors can also purchase collectibles and souvenirs, and have the opportunity to take photos.

“Squid Game: The Experience” will open Thursday through Monday from October 11. Tickets, available for individuals and groups, go on sale from August 21 at the event’s official website. Those interested can already register on the waiting list.

Netflix also plans to open similar experiences in Europe and Asia later this year, before the second season of the “Squid Game” series is released. The second season is expected from December 26, 2024, we learned inside official press releasewhile the third season is already being prepared.

This campaign is part of a wider strategy of Netflix aims to expand its offering of immersive experiences. The streaming giant plans to open two permanent “Netflix Houses” in Pennsylvania and Texas next year. These locations will include immersive experiences based on popular series such as “Squid Game,” “Bridgerton” and “Stranger Things,” as well as restaurants, shops and photo opportunities.

In 2023, the American giant had already tried the same kind of immersive experiences with “Squid Game: The Trials”.
