The essentials This Saturday and Sunday, the 33rd edition of the pottery fair in Uzech les Oules will take place. More than thirty exhibitors will be present to showcase their creations. Many activities will be presented throughout the weekend.
For the 33rd pottery fair, this Saturday and Sunday, the entire village of Uzech les Oules, the Oulo association, the resident potters of Oulerie, volunteers and young people are waiting for the curious, young and old. An invitation to discover this pottery village since the 13th century that will reveal all its little secrets.
This year again, there will be around thirty potters present on site. The Oulerie (exhibition and sales room but also the permanent pottery workshop where four pottery artists are present all year round: Benoit Chevalley, Natacha Debouttière Brosset, Rémy Debouttière and Sylvie Weyler) and the Oustal des oules (educational museum) will of course keep their doors open throughout the weekend.
Many animations
The throwing demonstration will be carried out by Dominique Garet on a traditional stick lathe, the modeling workshop will allow young and old alike to learn about pottery with the help of Manon Collot. This year, a raku show (on firing) will be presented all weekend by Thierry Dupuy.
The public will be able to vote for the “Coup de cœur d’atelier” competition which will reward three ceramists. Each artist will present a piece of their specialty, which will fit in with the theme of the “coup de cœur d’atelier”, that is to say, the piece of their creation that they like the most. Throughout the fair, visitors will be able to vote for their favorite. The result will be announced on Sunday at the end of the afternoon, towards the end of the fair.
Several catering options will be set up for the weekend as well as crepes and artisanal ice creams. A refreshment bar will be set up by the association. The appointment is made.
