Wactor was shot dead in late May in a nighttime incident on a street in Los Angeles. According to police, the 37-year-old surprised three men in a bar after finishing his shift, who were tampering with his parked vehicle. The thieves were reportedly trying to steal the vehicle’s catalytic converter. One of the men shot Wactor and they then fled. The actor was later pronounced dead in a hospital.
The theft of catalytic converters has increased sharply during the coronavirus pandemic, wrote the Los Angeles Times. Expensive precious metals such as platinum, palladium or rhodium are used in the exhaust gas purifier.
Wactor played the role of Brando Corbin in “General Hospital” from 2020 to 2022 in around 200 episodes of the long-running soap opera. The actor, who comes from Charleston, California, has also appeared in other series such as “Westworld,” “Criminal Minds” and “Station 19.”
