Messenger services are becoming increasingly widespread both in private and everyday working life. In order to establish a uniform standard for testing these services, the BfDI has initiated the development of a test catalogue. The catalogue was created as part of the EDSA Support Pool of Experts format. The catalogue was mainly developed by Prof. Mathieu Cunche (INSA-Lyon) and the BfDI department.
Comments and opinions can be submitted using the feedback form until the end of the consultation period by email to konsultation.messenger@bfdi.bund.de The consultation process will run until 15. November 2024The results will be published on the BfDI website.
The Original Version 1.0.0which was the result of the SPE project, can be accessed on the EDSA website.
Here you can find the documents relating to the consultation process for standardized messenger review. The catalogue is available in the English original and as a German translation in version 1.1.0.

Instructions on using the feedback form
You can use the feedback form to send us your comments on the catalogue in a structured manner. It is designed so that you fill out a separate form for each requirement you would like to comment on.
In the form you can specify what kind of comment you would like to make on a requirement (e.g. change the content or editorial content, delete, add a new requirement). You can also specify whether you have comments on the requirement itself (D1) or comments on the testing methodology (D2).
By selecting the “Element” field, you can directly select the requirements from the catalog using their abbreviation (e.g. “LEG_BASIS_1”). The requirements can be found more quickly in most PDF programs by entering the abbreviation on the keyboard.
**Please make sure that the correct item is selected so that your comments can be assigned correctly.**
You can make a suggested wording for the requirement to be changed directly in the form and explain it in the justification field. If you have general comments on a requirement, you can also enter these in the justification field.
To make it easier to use, the form has buttons that allow you to save your currently completed document individually (please ensure that you use a clear name so that you do not overwrite previously completed forms) or send us the completed form directly by email. (Note: Multiple individual emails are preferred and expected.) The third button clears all completed fields so that you can move on to the next comment.
Thank you for participating in the public consultation.
