The Investigative Committee established the situation of the deception of hundreds of clients by a fraudulent seller of a large trading platform, reported in the department. According to investigators, back in 2018, a resident of the Volkovysk region created a scheme to deceive people. She created a wonderful social network profile and offered fashionable clothes, shoes, and popular non-food items for sale. The woman downloaded pictures of the goods from the internet and posted them on her account as attractive lots with a lower price.
At the same time, he positioned himself as a representative of the largest wholesale and retail clothing market in Russia. Hundreds of residents from different regions of Belarus fell for attractive offers. In pursuit of a profitable purchase, people transferred an advance payment in the amount of 50% to 100% of the cost of the goods to the virtual seller and agreed to wait a long time for delivery – from 30 to 40 days.
The goods did not arrive on the specified day. Communication between the customer and the person involved began. The woman, under various circumstances, delayed completing the transaction. I blocked angry customers who left angry comments on my account. Money was returned to buyers who threatened to go to the police, notes the Audit Committee.
In total, from February 2018 to June 2023, the fraudulent seller took possession of the money of 773 victims through deception for a total amount of more than 25 thousand rubles. A 40-year-old resident of the Volkovysk region has been charged with fraud committed on a large scale. During the investigation, the accused made full compensation for the damage. In addition, property in the amount of 42 thousand rubles was seized.
