In the Berlin district of Kreuzberg, the headquarters of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) was defaced by unknown assailants with terror symbols of the Palestinian Hamas.
The perpetrators left red triangles on the outside of the Willy Brandt House. These represent Palestinian terror against Israel. In Gaza, these triangles were used by Hamas to mark Israeli units, which were then attacked. The current war began on October 7, 2023, when terrorists from Gaza murdered more than 1,200 people in southern Israel.
The perpetrators, who are now being sought by the state security department of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office, also sprayed a large part of the facade of the SPD headquarters with red paint. The same applies to the metal cube with the SPD logo in front of the Willy Brandt House.
»Graffiti with political content«
A local tabloid initially reported that “climate criminals” were responsible, but later retracted this. The “Last Generation” today occupied airports across Germany – including the BER airport in Schönefeld, Brandenburg, which also bears Willy Brandt’s name.
The Berlin police said there had been “damage to property in the form of large-scale red paint and graffiti with political content at a party headquarters on Wilhelmstrasse.” A security guard discovered this at around 5 a.m.
Shortly before 12:00 p.m., a cleaning team was cleaning the building with water jets. The triangles were no longer visible at this point, but the red paint was. “That will probably cost a few thousand,” said one of the men involved in the cleaning on site.

Beck wants ban
On Platform X, Volker Beck, President of the German-Israeli Society (DIG), called on Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser to extend the ban on Hamas to include the red triangle.
The symbol has appeared repeatedly in recent weeks, including during occupations of university buildings by anti-Israel activists who support Palestinian terror and thus the murder of Israelis.
