Police have charged five people in connection with the death of Friends star Matthew Perry.

Details: The publication notes that charges have been brought against five people, including two doctors and the actor’s personal assistant.

Police said Thursday that an investigation launched in May uncovered a “large underground criminal network” of drug suppliers who distributed large quantities of ketamine.
According to the prosecutor, the defendants “exploited Perry’s addiction to enrich themselves”.
Three defendants, including Perry’s assistant, have already pleaded guilty.
The indictment filed in federal court details a complex drug-dealing scheme that prosecutors say ultimately led to Perry’s death.
Prosecutors said Perry’s assistant worked with two doctors to give the actor more than $50,000 worth of ketamine in the weeks before his death.
Officials said participants in the scheme sought to profit from Perry’s known substance abuse problems.
