The Oktyabr District Court in St. Petersburg registered a lawsuit, according to which the Czech video game Last Train Home “may contradict the traditional values” of Russian society. The State Attorney’s Office therefore requests that the game be banned from Steam, writes server Meduza.
The head of the joint press service of the St. Petersburg courts, Daria Lebedeva, described the game as inciting hatred and hostility towards the Russian authorities and Red Army soldiers from the civil war.
At the same time, the prosecutor’s office claims that the Czech video game Last Train Home “contains false information about the activities of state authorities at the time, denies historical facts and glorifies representatives of the Czechoslovak legions.” The need to “carry out cruel gaming events” also appears problematic to the public prosecutor’s office. According to the prosecutor’s office, all of the above can harm the mental and social health and development of children.
The Brno studio Ashborne Games is behind the game about Czech legionnaires, it was released in 2023. Its story was created in cooperation with the Czechoslovak legionary community, the plot itself takes place in Russia, during the civil war at the beginning of the 20th century.
