On Wednesday evening, August 14, 2024, a fire broke out in an apartment in the Tössfeld district.
Nobody was injured.
Shortly after 9 p.m., the Winterthur city police received a report of a fire in an apartment building in the Tössfeld district. The patrol dispatched to the scene found heavy smoke and flames in an apartment. The fire department from Protection & Intervention Winterthur, dispatched together with the police, extinguished the fire. The suspected cause of the fire was overheated food.
No one was injured. People who were still in the apartment building were evacuated. The material damage was significant and several apartments are no longer inhabitable.
In addition to the Winterthur city police, the fire department from Protection & Intervention Winterthur was also on duty.
