/ world today news/ Today, there is one Mr. Sujuk in every city. Today in every municipality there is a feudal lord who exercises his power – and outside his power, who distributes public contracts – to his own people, who blackmails and threatens.
Bulgaria becomes a feudal domain. A management where the most important thing is the family business. In every regional city – corruption, replacement of procedures.
Whole regions in the country are being feudalized – a deputy from GERB blackmails a businessman in Dobrich for sudzhuk and threatens his business, the chairman of the municipal council in September shoots and kills a man. In Pernik, a GERB leader appropriates a municipal kindergarten. Botevgrad – scandals in GERB related to corruption and trading in influence.
But what reaches the media is only a tiny fraction.
Shurobajanism, nepukism – it has always existed in Bulgaria, and everyone is to blame for that. But GERB talk about a “new morality” and I have to agree – it really is a New Morality.
The example in the municipality of Haskovo is more than surobajanism – an unscrupulous and brazen scheme was carried out to subjugate the municipality by a circle of relatives and friends with a clear goal – trading with a public and municipal resource.
Let me remind you: in the municipality of Haskovo, at the request of the regional coordinator of GERB, relatives, godfathers, former partners and classmates of the same regional coordinator of GERB and MP, Mr. Dobrev, were appointed to key positions.
– Deputy mayor /construction department/ – best man and former partner
– Second Deputy. Mayor – former partner, classmate
– The secretary of the municipality – godfather
– The chairman of the municipal election commission – best man, husband of the secretary of the municipality
– Director of the Finance Directorate – first cousin
– The Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee – son-in-law, husband of the Director of the Finance Directorate
The same is a shareholder in over 40 companies that win public contracts for tens of millions of BGN. Just one example – one of these companies is in the top three companies that renovate buildings under the energy efficiency program.
The municipality is not the family table where the closest relatives, godfathers and ex-partners sit, where the family budget is distributed.
It is about a lack of morals, a display of complete shamelessness.
We see how a politician quite legally takes over a municipality and sees nothing wrong with it. It is unimaginable impudence to declare with pride how you grossly violate the law on public servants and the principle of competition in public administration.
For two years now, this circle of friends has managed the municipality without a competition – in violation of the law, and the secretary of the municipality – the godfather – has no administrative experience – again in violation of the law.
The GERD model is the ladybug model. Valeri Simeonov, a coalition partner of GERB, said these days – “personnel are placed in management positions for purely party, partisan reasons. People are appointed with completed preliminary proceedings, with dubious biographies, because money needs to be absorbed.”
This is how we look in the eyes of our partners – the USA.
In the Report of the US State Department on Bulgaria – for 2016, it is written:
“EMPLOYEES IN ALL BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT ENGAGE IN CORRUPTIVE PRACTICES WITH IMPUNITY. CORRUPTIVE PRACTICES INCLUDE BRIBERIES, CONFLICTS OF INTEREST, COMPLEX EMPLOYMENT SCHEMES, DISORDERED PROCUREMENTS AND TRADING OF INFLUENCE.
ALTHOUGH THE LAW PROVIDES FOR THE CRIMINAL PROSECUTION OF CORRUPTION IN AUTHORITY, THE BULGARIAN GOVERNMENT DOES NOT ENFORCE THE LAW EFFECTIVELY.”
Bulgarian Prime Minister Borissov talks about preventing and countering corruption? Show him this countermeasure, Mr. Borisov, at least out of godfather’s shame. Aren’t you the one who said you would remove any suspicion of abuse, including surobajanashina?
Today, the monetization of power is brutal and unrestrained. Some do it at the state level, others at the district level, others at the city level.
Mr. Dobrev shared on national air that it is normal in a small town like Haskovo that everyone knows each other. This is his explanation for the family business circle running the municipality.
I will ask – how many small towns are there in Bulgaria – Dobrich, Septemvri, Pernik.
How small does the city have to be for GERB’s Haskov scheme to exist?
And what about Bulgaria – is Bulgaria a small country?
Yes, it is small, and it will get smaller and smaller, and each of us will shrink – while we are silent. While we are silent about the humiliation to which the Bulgarian is subjected.
We have been silent for years about Mr. Sujuk. We have been silent for years about the Dobrev scheme. We are silent about the transformation of Bulgaria into a feudal domain. Because everyone thinks that nothing depends on them. Or because we are afraid…..fear of bread.
This fear will destroy us as a people. And the biggest threat to Bulgaria today is our silence. Therefore, I call – speak, write, protest, shout. Seek your rights – there is someone to stand behind you.
If we do not start breaking this MODEL of government – and from this parliament – then we have no right to be in this hall!
