North Korea has just allowed foreign tourists from this 1 country

North Korea (North Korea) is still closed to some foreign tourists until now. There is only one country that is allowed to enter the country of kimchi.

Citing CNNThursday (15/8/2024), the pandemic has kept North Korea’s borders tightly closed from almost the outside world for several years.

The restrictions remain largely in place with the exception of small tour groups from Russia.

Only Russian tourists will be allowed to enter North Korea this year. There is an increasingly close partnership between Kim and Russian strongman Vladimir Putin.

About 100 Russian tourists were welcomed to North Korea earlier this year. They traveled by North Korean Air Koryo from Vladivostok.

However, border restrictions due to the pandemic forced most diplomatic missions and international non-profit institutions to withdraw from North Korea.

Therefore, this country with a population of about 25 million people has become the most isolated country since the Cold War.

A United States passport is not valid for travel to, in, or through North Korea, unless the passport is specifically certified by the United States Department of State.

The department classifies North Korea as “Level 4: no travel.”

The news of reopening tourism comes about a month after Kim visited a new seaside resort, the Wonsan-Kalma zone, which is currently being developed on the country’s east coast.

Kim said the resort would open in May 2025, after years of construction delays due to the Covid pandemic and United Nations (UN) sanctions, state news agency KCNA reported.
