El Al signed an agreement with Boeing to purchase up to 31 Boeing MAX737 aircraft that will replace and augment El Al’s current fleet of narrowbody aircraft. The agreement is a fulfillment of the company’s strategic plan to modernize the aircraft fleet, along with the introduction of new technologies, and increase the supply of seats. This is with the aim of significantly upgrading the service and the flight experience, while at the same time emphasizing the quality of the environment according to the global ESG indicators.
The deal includes the purchase of 20 MAX737 aircraft, and options to purchase up to 11 additional aircraft, which will replace El Al’s current fleet of narrow-body Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 aircraft . The planes are expected to be delivered starting in 2028.
