Alfonso Obregón, the actor who voices Shrek in Latin America, has been arrested for alleged sexual abuse. The actor has been transferred to Reclusorio Norte, one of the most important prisons in Mexico, and it will be there where his judicial process will continue. The well-known voice actor has been arrested by authorities of the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City, after the alleged incident that occurred in Cuahtémoc in February 2022 against a student in his courses. Local media have reported that he will remain in custody until his next hearing this week.

The voice actor is popularly known for having given life to animated characters such as Shrek, Marty from the film ‘Madagascar’, Bugs Bunny, Kakashi Hatake from the anime Naruto, among others. As well as being the voice of actors such as Chris Rock, Woody Allen, Mike Myers, David Duchovny and Chris Tucker. After his arrest, it remains to be seen who will play the green ogre in the new film ‘Shrek 5’.

It was Obregón himself who explained the complaint and what had happened to the student in a video shared by Carlos Jiménez, originally published on the Facebook page ‘Híbrido Radio Mx’, Obregón recounted “squeeze your ass that was my sexual assault, like what my singing teacher did to me, my acting teachers.”

The voice actor added that he is used to hearing these expressions from his students because his teachers also treated him that way.
