The German Prosecutor General’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Ukraine against undermining the Russian gas pipeline Nord Stream. Local publications report this Süddeutsche Zeitung and The hour.
According to journalists, three Ukrainian diving instructors are involved in the bombing case. A warrant was issued only for one of them – Vladimir Z. According to the investigators, he and his accomplices attached explosives to the gas pipeline.
It is reported that the man lived with his family in a suburb of Warsaw. A warrant for his arrest was issued back in June, but it was only now that the news came to light. Vladimir denies his guilt.
Six people are involved in the gas pipeline bombing case: one woman and five men, including Vladimir Z. According to investigators, in September 2022 they left the port of Hohe-Dune in Rostock on the yacht Andromeda. German prosecutors say the suspects stopped on the islands of Rügen, Bornholm, Christiansø, Sandhamn and the city of Kolobrzeg before returning to Rostock. During the trip, the divers claimed to have attached explosives to the pipes.
Three of the four layers of gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 were damaged at the end of September 2022. The explosion was powerful: according to Blueye Robotics, which participated in the investigation of the accident site, at a depth of meters 80, several meter sections of pipes were missing or their fragments were scattered on the bottom.
