The presenter tries to explain that in the past the media councils did not only criticize the reports of »her« program, which the new CEO of ČT Jan Soucek (50) decided to cancel, but also other news and journalistic programs. “I am very sorry that the management of the television is now using this as a whip against the program 168 hours, moreover selectively only against it,” she sighed Fridrichova. And in this context, she did not leave a dry thread on her direct superiors.
“All reports that went on the air were subject to approval by our superiors. Under the current management of the television, it was the editor-in-chief Michal Kubal and his representative for journalism Aneta Snopová. It is not clear to us why they are keeping their hands off us and our work now, when they have always approved and signed the reports,” the moderator wrote.
“If I do it as a leader, I have to stand by the report even after it airs, not that I’m going to oppose it out of the blue,” she objected. It seems that this war has no end yet and may intensify on the battlefield in the coming days.
Meeting with Mrzena
This week, Fridrichová and her team of the 168 hours show will have a meeting with the director of the News and Journalism division, Petr Mrzena (49), at which they will all discuss the future of ČT.
