During the heatwave, it is necessary to keep the right body temperature. For this, it is necessary that the body sweats and therefore not drink water. If the temperature is not right, the risk of heart attack is possible.
The day will still be hot this Tuesday. The second heat wave is also present with only nine departments in the South-East still on orange heatwave alert, according to Météo-France. In these conditions, you must protect yourself: avoid going out between 12 and 4 p.m. and especially drink water to regulate body temperature.
Risks of heart attack
In order to maintain a normal temperature of 37°C, it is necessary for the body to sweat and for this, it is necessary to drink water. The thirst-quenching and refreshing side allows good body thermoregulation.
“When the body is fighting heat, there is a rush of blood to the surface of the body to promote sweating. When we do not drink enough of the blood vessels of other organs, there is a risk of lack of irrigation of these vital organs by the blood and there are risks of clotting. You can have heart attacks if you do not drink enough”, explains Jean-Paul Hamon, general practitioner, honorary president of the Federation of Doctors of France.
Drink water
If you don’t sweat when it’s hot, you can become dehydrated and suffer from heat stroke. To counteract this, it is necessary to drink water and create a form of artificial perspiration by wetting your body with lukewarm water without drying the droplets that will help eliminate excess heat. Finally, to know if you have drunk enough, your urine should remain clear and if it turns orange, pour yourself a large glass of water.
