Lake Wörthersee is the first purely Austrian lake to reach 571,437 Instagram posts, making it second in the Austria-wide ranking.

With 571,437 posts, Lake Wörthersee is the first purely Austrian lake to exceed the half-million post mark on Instagram. The Carinthian lake, known for its shimmering turquoise, recorded growth of 128 percent compared to 2018 and thus maintained second place in the ranking. Compared to the total of 36 bodies of water examined in Carinthia and Styria, Lake Wörthersee alone generated more posts than all other lakes in the two federal states combined. This is all the more remarkable as it surpasses its Carinthian competitors, Lake Faak (9th place) and Lake Weissensee (10th place), by more than 400,000 posts.
