The iconic captain of the “Fennecs” Riad Mahrez will make his big return to the national team from Algeria from the next international window, scheduled for next September.
As a reminder, Algeria will give the reply respectively to Equatorial Guinea and to Liberia on behalf of Group “E”.
According to the site “The Fennec Gazette”the former player of Manchester City will have to meet in the coming days with his coach Vladimir Petkovic to discuss his future return with the “Greens”.

Unless there is a spectacular turnaround, Riad Mahrez will be retained by the Swiss coach for the new international window.
An excellent reinforcement in perspective for the double champion from Africa in anticipation of the next games, in particular the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations et the 2026 World Cup.
Riyad Mahrez’s record with Algeria
International since 2010, the star striker from Al-Ahli played 93 matches with the national team from Algeriain all competitions, crowned with 31 goals and 40 assists.
His last appearance was on January 23, the date of the match against the Mauritania counting for the 3rd day of the group stage of the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2023).
Aged 33, Riad Mahrez will try to guide his national team to a new qualification for the final phase of 2026 World Cup.
