The veteran entertainer passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday night… after battling breast cancer. Laurie, who shared the news on a GoFundMe she launched for her sister’s care, said she couldn’t be by Rachel’s side when she was by her side, but assured fans that RL died “painlessly.”
She added… “He started to decline last week. It was unexpected and we are completely devastated. We want peace for now, while his family mourns this loss.”
Rachel’s co-stars in “Pokémon” Veronica Taylor – who voiced Ash Ketchum on the popular cartoon – took to Instagram on Monday to pay tribute to the late star.
In a touching message to fans, Veronica shared how their love and support helped Rachel during her battle with cancer.
She continued… “I was fortunate to know Rachel as a friend. She had boundless kindness and compassion, even to the very end.”
In addition to her work on the “Pokémon” franchise, Rachel has been a staple in the anime community, voicing several films and television shows… including the “Hunter × Hunter: The Last Mission” arc, “Berserk: The Golden Age,” “Sonic X,” “Animation Runner Kuromi,” and “Guardian of Darkness.”
