Three police officers intervened to break up an altercation in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) on the night of Saturday 10 to Sunday 11 August. According to information from CNewsthe arrest was interrupted by a group of individuals who targeted members of the security forces.
The police had arrested two men before being targeted by projectiles and blows from other people present at the scene, at the intersection between Boulevard Gabriel Péri and Boulevard de la Boissière.

Three officers taken to hospital
To escape the situation, one of the police officers used his service weapon to fire a shot into the sky. No one present, other than the police officers, was injured.

Following this confrontation, three police officers were taken care of by emergency services and taken to the nearest hospital. In total, three people were arrested, and one of them was taken into custody. An investigation into violence against persons in authority has been opened and entrusted to the Montreuil police station, CNews said.
According to figures from the Ministry of the Interior, in 2023, violence against police officers on duty increased by 4.1%. Nine members of the security forces lost their lives while carrying out their duties.
