Haason Reddick had to change teams in April, not entirely voluntarily. The Philadelphia Eagles traded the pass rusher to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick, which could become a second-round pick. The 29-year-old is demanding a new contract there.
But so far the Jets have not moved. One year before his contract expires, which the Jets naturally took over from the Eagles, the outside linebacker is in a holdout. Reddick is entitled to a base salary of $14.25 million for 2024. General Manager Joe Douglas reacted sourly and explained that the Jets had no plans to trade Reddick. The personnel issue should guarantee suspense in the coming weeks.
