In “Star Wars Outlaws” we slip into the role of Key Vess, a young villain. Gaming content creator “JorRaptor” had the opportunity to play the open-world title for several hours and tells us whether it will be possible to steal from or even kill civilians, as in titles like “GTA”.
With „Star Wars Outlaws“ The first open-world title in the universe of the legendary star saga is released this month. We take control of the protagonist Kay Vess.
Kay is described by the developers at Ubisoft Massive as a young villain who is looking for a new life of freedom and who does not shy away from criminal activities. Elements such as bounty hunts or a reputation system that can culminate in chases or firefights depending on your own behavior are also offered in “Star Wars Outlaws”.
However, we shouldn’t expect a “GTA” in the world of “Star Wars”. As gaming content creator “JorRaptor” reports, it will not be possible to steal from, injure or even kill civilians. In this respect, “Star Wars Outlaws” is a bit tamer than “GTA” or other open-world titles.
The most complete open world in years?
“JorRaptor” had the opportunity to play “Star Wars Outlaws” for four hours and, according to his own statements, was particularly impressed by the open world. The content creator praises this and speaks of nothing less than the most complete open world of recent years.
“At the end of my four hours with Star Wars Outlaws, I just wanted to keep playing,” he said. “Over the last few years, I’ve felt increasingly burned out by open-world games. But this open world feels like one of the most complete and coherent I’ve seen in a long time.”
“I’ll have to spend a lot more time with Outlaws to know if it can measure up to incredible games like Red Dead Redemption and Ghost of Tsushima. But the fact that it reminds me so much of them is a good sign indeed.”
Extensive post-launch support promised
“Star Wars Outlaws” will be released on August 30, 2024 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. As Ubisoft recently announced, players can look forward to extensive post-launch support. This includes two additional story episodeswhere, among other things, a reunion with old friends awaits.
Furthermore, the developers at Ubisoft Massive recently discussed a possible New Game Plus mode. As the studio admittedwe will have to do without this feature at least at launch. However, there is a possibility that the New Game Plus mode will be added at a later date.
However, nothing has been decided on this matter yet.
