Apple continues to strengthen its ties with theIndea market that had long eluded Cupertino’s ambitions before bearing its first fruits two years ago. iPhone and iPad production has been partly relocated to the country led by Narendra Modi, and two Apple Stores have finally opened there despite local regulations that are not very favorable to foreign companies. When publishing Apple’s results for the second quarter of 2024, Tim Cook even said that Apple had “set quarterly revenue records in more than two dozen countries and regions, including Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.”

A few days ago, a delegation from Telangana, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was received at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino. The delegation discussed the Young India Skills University, new electronics parks in Hyderabad and Telangana regions, and many other local initiatives, with the aim of impressing and perhaps convincing Apple executives present on the day, namely those in charge of manufacturing, healthcare, and public policy divisions, to invest in tech development projects in Hyderabad and Telangana. A. Revanth Reddy also took advantage of his visit to Apple to meet Shantanu Narayen, the current CEO of Adobe Systems, who trained in Hyderabad.
