/ world today news/ The export of oil from the Russian Federation in April may become a record, the official representative of the Russian oil giant “Transneft” Igor Demin told RNS on Thursday (March 24) in response to a question about the planned reduction of oil processing in April .
“In April, we expect preventative maintenance at a number of refineries, so April oil exports could be a record,” he said.
Demin explained that the export discrepancies in the second-quarter schedule were due to a different base of comparison being used.
According to him, the Ministry of Energy announced the actual export in the first quarter, and “Transneft” – planned figures. Therefore, Demin added, the Ministry of Energy expects an increase in oil supplies for export in the second quarter of 2016 by 200 thousand tons, and “Transneft” – by 400 thousand tons.
