Kevin Durant or the poker of golds

Paris, Aug 10 (EFE) .- Kevin Durant, who on Saturday became the most decorated basketball player in the Olympics by winning an unprecedented fourth gold, declared after the basketball final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in which his team beat France (87-98) at the Bercy Arena in the French capital, that “this is about representing” his “team”, his “country”, his “street” and “ultimately about enhancing this sport”; and on whether he will seek a fifth gold “at” the Los Angeles Games “in 2028, we will see.”

“It was an incredible game and we had an incredible few days, here and in Lille. Everyone treated us so well. And it was great to be back with these two,” said Durant, 35, who plays for the Phoenix Suns, referring to coach Steve Kerr and Stephen Curry, with whom he had already won two NBA rings with at the Golden State Warriors and with whom he met again at the Games.

“Curry has been impressive again, with the amount of three-pointers he has scored. The other day in the semi-final, he made nine; this time it was eight. It is fascinating how he responds in important moments, but it does not surprise me,” said ‘KD’, who played down the feat of having achieved an unprecedented fourth Olympic gold.

“For me, the most important thing is to put this sport at the highest possible level. When I play, I represent my team, my country, my street and my family. And what I want is to do it as well as possible,” he said.

“Whether I’ll be there in 2028 (at the Los Angeles Olympics) remains to be seen,” added Kevin Durant after having extended his legendary status this Saturday at the Bercy Arena in Paris.
