BENGKULU – The people of Bengkulu Province are still infected with the HIV/Aids virus, and they are asked to maintain their lifestyle and avoid bad behavior.
Bengkulu Province Health Service Chief (Dinkes) Moh. Redhwan Arif confirmed that there are still hundreds of Bengkulu residents in Bengkulu Province who are infected with the HIV/AIDS virus, and who continue to follow lifestyle and behavior patterns that are not good for their own health .
“The exact or complete number has not been recorded or read yet, but about 100 more are infected with the HIV/AIDS virus,” said Redhwan Arif, Monday (12/08/2024).
Redhwan then explained that in following people who were said to be positive for the HIV/AIDS virus, they would still be directed to seek treatment and receive regular treatment with the Bengkulu Regional Health Service.
“The effects of this virus are the result of an illness that does not know the cause and from an unhealthy lifestyle,” he continued.
It is known that in the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, the Provincial Government of Bengkulu has the Provincial Administration of Bengkulu Province (PERDA) No. 5 of 2017 regarding the Management of HIV/AIDS in Bengkulu Province.
And in the content of the Regional Management, there are measures for efforts to overcome HIV and AIDS implemented through the promotion, prevention and monitoring of HIV diagnosis, treatment and methods of care and support. Treatment for PLWHA is done through clinical methods, religious methods, and family and community methods. To address HIV and AIDS, a Regional/Regency/City KPA was formed.
Redhwan therefore strongly requested all residents across Bengkulu Province to maintain a better daily lifestyle, maintain cleanliness, healthy intake patterns, and not engage in bad behavior , to avoid the HIV/AIDS virus.
