Audio recording with real-time transcription
With iOS 18, you’ll be able to record audio directly into Notes and get a real-time transcription of it at the same time. This means you can record a meeting, lecture, or interview and immediately have a text recording. You can then edit that text, insert it into other documents, or add a checklist to it. However, for now, this feature will only work on iPhone 12 and later and will only support English – but we hope to add support for other languages in the future.

Mathematical equations directly in the notes
Math in Notes? Yes, you read that right. With iOS 18, simply write a math formula in a note and the app will immediately solve it for you. You can type using the keyboard or use the drawing tool to write the equation by hand. Notes will then ask you if you want to solve the equation.
Hide parts of the text for better clarity
Do you have long lists or complex texts in your notes? WITH iOS 18 makes them much easier to read. Note titles and subtitles can now be collapsed. Just tap the arrow next to the title and that part of the text will be hidden. Thanks to this, you will get a better overview of the structure of the note and find the information you need faster.
Highlight important information
With iOS 18, you can highlight text in notes with color. This is useful for marking important information that you want to keep in mind or for adding visual variety to your notes. You can easily mark key points on your to-do list, highlight important quotes in the text, or create your own color code for better organization.
Smart Script (encore pour iPad)
The Smart Script feature is only available for iPadOS 18 so far, but it’s still worth mentioning. If you take notes by hand on your iPad, Smart Script can adjust your handwriting to improve its readability without changing your writing style. You can also insert text into your handwritten notes and Smart Script will automatically convert it to your handwriting. Additionally, you can correct typos directly in the text, drag text to organize it, and cross out parts of the text to delete them.
